STUDY BASICS

Are you a healthy adult 18-25 years of age? You may be eligible for a research study to better understand bone health in type one diabetes (T1D). This study is recruiting adolescents and young adults with and without diabetes. Participation involves one study visit, lasting approximately 3-4 hours. Compensation is provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to learn more about the effects of HbA1c and type one diabetes on bone health.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

  • ages 18-25
  • able and willing to complete an MRI

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

This study involves one study visit.  During the study visit, the study will perform a urine pregnancy test (for female participants), a bone density scan, an MRI of the lower spine and femur, a small blood draw, a brief physical, ask you to complete a questionnaire about physical activity, ask about your medical history, and measure your height, and weight. This study will take 3-4 hours to complete.
