STUDY BASICS

Are you the mother of a child 7 to 9 years old? Moms who experience depressed mood or intense mood swings OR who have not experienced any mental health symptoms since the birth of their child may be eligible to participate in a research study on social relationships between kids. Moms and children will participate along with the child's closest friend. Participants will be compensated.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this research is to understand how children’s friendships impact their mental health and how this relates to a family history of mental health problems. This study will help us understand if we can identify risk factors for mental health problems in children by focusing on their behavior with friends.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • mother of a child ages 7-9
  • mother experiences depression or mood swings OR who have not experienced any mental health symptoms since the birth of their child
  • child has a close friend to participate with

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
  • Baseline Lab Appointment (~2 hours) and 
  • 6-month Virtual Follow-up Assessment (~1 hour)
