STUDY BASICS

Are you the parent of a Pennsylvanian between the ages of 15-17? If so, this research study wants to invite your child to an interview for their feedback on some study methods that will be used to better understand views on abortion and contraceptive care. These interviews will occur via Zoom and will last up to 1 hour. Compensation is provided


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this research study is to determine how to ask survey questions and prompt focus group discussions about sexual and reproductive health topics in a way that feels most comfortable to those answering. 


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOUR CHILD?

  • 15-17 year olds
  • Live in Pennsylvania
  • English-speaking
  • Have access to Zoom or a similar platform
  • Willing to be audio recorded

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Participants will complete one cognitive interview: a cognitive interview is an interview meant to elicit feedback on question phrasing and formatting. The cognitive interview will last approximately 1 hour and will occur via Zoom.  Participants must be willing to be audio-recorded for this study.

Tamar Krishnamurti

Tamar Krishnamurti, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. A graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, Dr. Krishnamurti’s research interests include the design of effective communications, decision aids, and interventions for both domestic and international populations as well as medical decision making, mHealth, and risk perception and communication.
