About Healthy Child

The aim of medicine is health, and healthy volunteers play an important role in research. Understanding the body’s normal functioning helps doctors restore it to that healthy state when illness strikes, and the contrasts between healthy and unhealthy volunteers can highlight the hidden mechanisms of disease. Many conditions that are common in children look different in adults, so pediatric research often needs healthy children. As a healthy volunteer in a research study, your child may further medical knowledge; provide a standard against which researchers may measure illness; or help doctors not only fight disease, but promote wellness.
