STUDY BASICS

Do you identify as Latino, Latina, Latine/x or Hispanic? You may be eligible for a research study to to interview Latino teenagers and parents/guardians to learn more about how they think about gender identity so that we can determine the best way for researchers to ask Latino participants about their gender identity in the future. Compensation is provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this study is to interview Latino teenagers and parents/guardians to learn more about how they think about gender identity so that we can determine the best way for researchers to ask Latino participants about their gender identity in the future.

  • 18-19 years old
  • Identify as Latino, Latina, Latine/x or Hispanic

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

A 60-minute individual interview that can be completed via a video call over Zoom or in person at our office in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. You do not need your parent to participate with you, but if they are also interested, you will both complete the interviews separately.

MEET THE RESEARCHER


Maya Ragavan

Maya Ragavan, MD, is a general pediatrician and researcher at the University of Pittsburgh/Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She is interested in learning more about ways to improve well-child care for children and families. Her research also focuses on supporting families who have experienced stress or trauma.
