STUDY BASICS
Have you been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes for more than 3 years? If so, and if you are you free of any pancreatic conditions, you may be eligible to participate in a 1-visit research study to help researchers identify differences between various causes of diabetes. Compensation is provided.
STUDY PURPOSE
Type 2 diabetes is a common health condition that is usually caused by lifestyle and genetic factors. However, research shows that underlying problems with the pancreas can also cause some cases of diabetes. There is currently no test to differentiate type 2 diabetes from diabetes caused by a problem with the pancreas.
The purpose of this study is to help researchers develop a blood test that can tell the difference between the various causes of diabetes. Researchers hope their findings will lead to better ways to diagnose and treat people with diabetes in the future.
