Bridging the Gap: Understanding Early Intervention Access - Preterm infants
STUDY BASICS
Are you parent of an infant born 32-36 weeks of gestation who had admission to the NICU? You may be eligible for a research study to better understand families’ experiences with early intervention (EI) services. Participation involves developmental assessment for your infant, caregiver survey and some families may be invited to a follow-up interview.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to learn more about the developmental status of infants born moderately preterm (32–36 weeks of gestation) after discharge from the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and to better understand families’ experiences with early intervention (EI) services.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOUR CHILD?
- Infants born between 32-36 weeks of gestation who had admission to the NICU
- Parent or primary caregiver who is 18 years or older and caring for the infant
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
- Developmental assessment for your infant
- Caregiver survey
- Some families may be invited to a follow-up interview
Time Commitment: Assessment and survey: About 60-90 minutes and Interview: About 60-90 minutes
