STUDY BASICS

Are you 18 or 19 years old and the mother of one child? If so, you may want to participate in a study that will pair you with a mentor, or Maikuru, to provide you with a support network. Participants will have 5 weekly 2-hour educational sessions, will receive dinner, child-care, bus tickets/parking at each session, and will also receive compensation for completing all sessions.

Jeannette South-Paul

Jeannette E. South-Paul, MD, is the Department Chair of Family Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. South-Paul’s research interests include teen pregnancy prevention, eliminating health disparities with a focus on chronic disease management, and cultural competence training and assessment.
