STUDY BASICS
Are you interested in becoming pregnant in the next 5 years? Do you have a mobility disabilities? We want to provide better education to help you be healthy and ready no matter what you decide. You may be able to participate in a research study to learn more about preconception health and mobility disabilities. Participants will be compensated for their time.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to provide two different educational interventions for preconception health for people with mobility disabilities and measure their relative efficacy in improving preconception health and knowledge.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
- Be between the ages of 18-39
- Be able to become pregnant in the next five years
- Who have a self-described mobility disabilities requiring assistive technology
- Able to communicate in English or American Sign Language
- Willing to participate in a study with multiple contacts over 6 months and check-in telephone or email communications over the remainder of the study—up to four years
WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
The research study involves two different educational experiences aimed at improving preconception health and mobility disability. Each educational experience will take up to 60 minutes of your time and you will be asked to complete surveys after each educational experience. All parts of the research project can be done online and over the phone.
