NO IN-PERSON VISITS
STUDY BASICS

Are you currently pregnant or have you given birth in the last year? You may be eligible for a research study on sleep and health during and after pregnancy. Participation involves a one-on-one Zoom interview (about 60 minutes) where you’ll be asked about your experiences with sleep, stress, routines, and support, especially around the time of birth. Compensation is provided.

STUDY PURPOSE

The main goal of this study is to create better ways to help moms and expectant moms stay healthy, especially with sleep, weight, heart health, and mental wellness, during and after pregnancy. We want to learn what you believe about how different factors affect your sleep, your weight, your heart health, and how you feel mentally. Your ideas will be used to build a diagram that shows how these things connect to one another. This diagram will also help us design our next steps in the research, including how we analyze data from other studies, and help design and apply programs that might lead to improvements.

COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?

People who are currently pregnant or have given birth in the last year may be eligible to take part in this study. To be eligible, you must have:

  • Been overweight or had obesity before pregnancy
  • Had a singleton (one baby) pregnancy
  • No medical conditions or taking medications that affect weight
  • No health conditions that would prevent participation in a future weight management program

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
  • Complete a short online survey before your interview. This survey will ask for basic information about you, such as your age, sleep habits, physical health, and mental well-being.
  • Participate in a one-on-one interview on Zoom, which will last about 60 minutes. During the interview, you will be asked about your experiences with sleep, physical health, and mental well-being during and after pregnancy.
  • Share your thoughts on what affects sleep and health. This study wants to hear about things like stress, family support, daily routines, and anything else that impacts your sleep, body, and mood.
  • Give feedback on a research diagram. You will be shown a diagram that researchers created to understand the connections between sleep, physical health, and mental health. You will be asked if it makes sense to you and if anything is missing.
  • Talk about sleep habits and changes. You will be asked if you think getting more sleep is possible and what might help or make it harder.
