STUDY BASICS

Do you have ADHD? Are you currently pregnant? You may be eligible for a research study to help researchers test a behavioral intervention for pregnant women with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). This study will involve a baseline assessment, a brief (6-session) behavioral program, a post-treatment assessment, and a 4-month postpartum follow-up. Compensation is provided.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this research study is to test a behavioral, or non-medication, treatment for pregnant women with ADHD.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • Woman 18 and older
  • Have or suspect you have ADHD
  • In your first or second trimesters of pregnancy.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Eligible participants will complete a baseline assessment, a brief (6-session) behavioral program, a post-treatment assessment, and a 4-month postpartum follow-up.  These activities will be completed over a 6-8-month period.

MEET THE RESEARCHER


Heather Joseph

Heather Joseph, DO, is an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh where she completed her general psychiatry residency and child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. Her research interest is in the identification of early signals of risk for developing neurodevelopmental disorders, specifically Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Her long-term goal is to aid in the development of early interventions to prevent familial transmission of ADHD.
