STUDY BASICS
Are you the parent of a baby under 6 months old? Your baby may be eligible for a research study to evaluate an investigational pediatric vaccine that may protect infants from getting sick if they come into contact with SARS-CoV-2 (also called coronavirus), which causes COVID-19.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to evaluate an investigational pediatric vaccine that may protect infants from getting sick if they come into contact with SARS-CoV-2 (also called coronavirus), which causes COVID-19. Currently, there is no vaccine approved for babies under 6 months old. Your baby’s participation may help advance research of an investigational vaccine that may protect babies against getting sick from COVID-19.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT
You will be asked to bring your baby to about 10 in-person study visits over the course of 12 months, and they will receive 2 injections 8 weeks apart. Your baby’s health will be closely monitored.

Judy Martin, MD is a Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of General Academic Pediatrics at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine, Dr. Martin’s research interests include vaccine research, Group A streptococcal infections, and rheumatic fever.
