17-220 - Healthy Volunteers

Are you a healthy adult age 18 or older? You may be eligible for a research study is being conducted through the Hillman Cancer Center (HCC). Healthy volunteers are needed for collection of white blood cells (PBMCs) to aide in Adoptive Cell Therapy Research. Compensation is provided.

Breast Cancer

AGE: 18 and older

DURATION: 14 days

VISITS: 2

COMPENSATION: $200 if you complete all parts of the study

Allegiant GCM

Have you had a recent experience with cancer care and live in the Pittsburgh region? You may be eligible for a research study to get your thoughts about the strengths and challenges of cancer care in the Pittsburgh area. Compensation provided.

AGE: 18 and older

DURATION: up to 10 months

VISITS: 3 sessions

LOCATION: Oakland, East Liberty, Homewood or Online

COMPENSATION: $25 gift card/completed session

MyPaTH Story Booth 2.0

Interested in sharing your story about health, illness, or research? Patients and caregivers are needed to participate in a research study to help learn more about topics that are important to you and that may improve health and health care. Participation involves one 45-minute session that takes place over the phone. Eligible participants must be able to read and understand English.

DURATION: 45 minutes

VISITS: 1 visit or phone call

The Experiences of Self-Advocacy in Adolescents and Young Adults with Cancer - Adult Arm

Have you been diagnosed with cancer between the ages of 18-29? You may be eligible for a research study to look at how adolescents and young adults with cancer self-advocate or stand up for themselves.

DURATION: 65 minutes total

VISITS: Online survey and interview (in person or remote)

COMPENSATION: $25

Cancer and Opioids: Patient Experiences with Stigma (COPES)

Have you been diagnosed with advanced cancer and currently take prescription pain medication to treat your pain? You may be eligible to participate in a research study to develop interventions to promote safe, effective, and informed opioid pain management practices for millions of patients with cancer pain. Compensation is provided.

DURATION: Up to 5 months

VISITS: 4 online activities

LOCATION: Online

COMPENSATION: up to $80

Evaluating serious game features to maximize engagement and game effects

Are you an adult with a history of chronic illness? Do you have any prior experience playing video games? You may be eligible for a research study to understand how different game features impact factors such as engagement and self-advocacy. We will be surveying anyone who has had prior gaming experience and a history of chronic illnesses. Compensation is provided.

AGE: 18 and older

DURATION: approximately 70 minutes

VISITS: 4 online survey

LOCATION: Online

COMPENSATION: Three participants will be randomly selected to receive one of an iPad, $100 Amazon gift card, and $50 Amazon gift card.

STRONG Study

Have you recently been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer or Stage 3 or 4 gynecological cancer? If so, you may be eligible to join a research study to discover new ways to self-advocate for a better quality of life through your cancer journey. Compensation is provided.

AGE: 18 and older

SEX ASSIGNED AT BIRTH: Female

DURATION: 6 months

VISITS: 1 remote visit and 3 remote data collection points

COMPENSATION: $15 for each completed survey and interview

Work Limitations in Nurses with Cancer

Are you a nurse that has been diagnosed with cancer? You may be eligible for a research study to understand work experiences among nurses with cancer.

DURATION: 60 minutes

VISITS: 1 survey
