STUDY BASICS

Are you the caregiver of an 18–35-year-old female diagnosed with epilepsy? You may be eligible for a research study about how women with epilepsy prefer to receive neurologic and gynecologic care, including if they would go to a joint neurology/gynecology clinic. Participation in this study involves completing an hour-long, one-on-one interview over Zoom with a research assistant.


STUDY PURPOSE

The purpose of this research study is to interview parents or guardians of female people with epilepsy about how they would like their child's gynecologic and neurologic medical needs to be met, including if they'd be interested in attending a joint neurology and gynecology clinic.


COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
  • Are at least 18 years old
  • Are the parent/guardian/caregiver of a female person with epilepsy ages 18-35 years old who is non-verbal.

WHAT PARTICIPANTS CAN EXPECT

Participation in this study involves completing an hour-long, one-on-one interview over Zoom with a research assistant.

Laura Kirkpatrick, MD is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology. A graduate of the University of Chicago and Georgetown University, Dr. Kirkpatrick’s research focuses on pediatric neurology and reproductive healthcare for young people.
