STUDY BASICS
Do you experience joint pain? You may be eligible for a research study which seeks to describe physical activity patterns in older adults with chronic multisite pain. Participation includes a clinic visit to test your physical and cognitive function, followed by a 14-day assessment on pain characteristics and physical activity using wrist-worn accelerometer in your daily living environment.
STUDY PURPOSE
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of daily fluctuations of pain and changes in pain characteristics over time on daily physical activities in older adults.
COULD THIS STUDY BE RIGHT FOR YOU?
• Age 65 years old or older
• Have chronic pain at two or more sites in shoulder, elbow, hand/wrists, back, hip, knee, or ankle/feet
• Able to understand and communicate in English
• Able to walk a quarter of mile and climb a flight of stairs without personal assistance (walk aids permitted)
