You may be able to change the future of medicine. The All of Us PA Research Program is enrolling adults 18 years of age or older. This may be your chance to improve how your children and your children’s children receive medical care.
Referral to Physical Activity Research Study
Are you aged 40-70, don’t regularly exercise, and have been told by a physician that you have one of the following: overweight/obesity, high blood pressure, and/or prediabetes? You may be able to participate in a study to help you increase your activity levels. This study involves completing a computer-based program with tracking tools and goal setting materials. Compensation is provided.
Pepper Center Research Registry for Older Adults
Are you at least 60 years old? If so, you may be able to take part in the Pepper Center Research Registry to help researchers learn more about aging, mobility, and balance.
Are you age 70 or older and currently exercise for less than one hour per week? If so, you may be able to participate in a research study to help find out if taking nitrite capsules can improve muscle health and help older adults become more active. Participation involves nine visits over four months. Compensation and parking pass provided.
WheelFit App Feasibility Study
Are you 18-65 years old, have a spinal injury, and use a manual wheelchair? You may be able to participate in a study to evaluate a fitness app called WheelFit which allows you to monitor your daily physical activity and provides an adaptive workout library. Study will last four weeks during which you are expected to use WheelFit and attend five video-conference meetings. Compensation is provided.
FIT BOLD Research Study
Did you recover from depression in the past two years? Are you age 60 or older? You may be able to participate in a research study to help better understand how lifestyle modification affects the brain in recently depressed older adults. Participants will take part in one of two healthy lifestyle programs, each facilitated by a personal coach. Compensation and travel reimbursement is provided.
MyPaTH Story Booth 2.0
Interested in sharing your story about health, illness, or research? Patients and caregivers are needed to participate in a research study to help learn more about topics that are important to you and that may improve health and health care. Participation involves one 45-minute session that takes place over the phone. Eligible participants must be able to read and understand English.
MyPaTH Story Booth – COVID-19 Stories
Participants are invited to share how they are maintaining their health during the coronavirus pandemic, or to share what it is like being ill with COVID-19 and/or caring for a loved one who is ill with COVID-19. Participation in this research study involves one 45-minute session that takes place over the phone. Eligible participants must be able to read and understand English.
Are you age 30 or older? You may be able to participate in an at-home study of muscle training to investigate the effect of muscle strengthening on bone, sleep, and quality of life. This study involves 3 in-person visits to the Duquesne University campus and daily muscle training (15 minutes) over 6 months. Eligible participants must have no condition that would limit their ability to exercise.
